We start off with a Meet and Greet chat. This can be done as an in person, over zoom or even as a phone call! During this time we talk about what kind of support you are looking for, how I can support you and your family and for us to get to know each other a little more!
Services can be established whenever you are ready! The earlier you start Doula Care, the more time you have for education and having additional supports through the early parts of pregnancy. But that doesn't mean you can't start services later in your journey! I've had families begin support as early as 4 weeks and as late as 36 weeks.
After services are established we set up your first prenatal meeting. This meeting is to discuss how you would like your support to look like during your pregnancy journey and covering any questions and concerns you may have. As every families is unique I tailor the support to meet the needs of your family!
As a bonus I offer unlimited phone support via texting and calling when needed. This allows you to reach out at any time day or night for additional support with questions and concerns.
For added Education, I have resources and classes available!
As you enter your last few weeks (usually around 32-36 weeks) we will get together to go over and create your birth plan. During this visit we will discuss your plan A, B & C as we call it! Bonus: we type up the birth plan for you, which allows you to easily print it off for your provider or you can use it as a guide to create your own.
This meeting is a perfect time for partners or other birth team members to attend, allowing everyone to ask questions, learn about what options are available and discuss expectations and hopes for the big day!
Our "on call" period starts two weeks before your estimated due date until your baby has arrived. Meaning you can contact me at any time and I will be ready to meet you. If you go into labor before this time we will do our best to attend your labor or provide you with an available doula!
As you get closer to the big day, and your labor begins, we are here to support you via phone to help you through the early parts of labor.
Once your labor progresses or you feel like you are ready for in person support we can join you at your home to continue laboring there until you are ready to transfer to the hospital or we can meet you at the hospital. Once I join you for in person support I can help you and your family with advocating your wishes, guidance with movement and pain management, and being available to support you how ever you may need! Bonus I can stay with you until you are all settled in after delivery!
Immediately after the birth of your little one(s) your postpartum journey begins! I stay with you and your family for a short time after delivery to answer any questions that may arise about recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding or any other concerns.
From here we can do check-ins via texting to help with your newborn and postpartum adjustments. When you're ready we can schedule up to two postpartum check-in sessions during the first few weeks after delivery. If you would like more postpartum support, I do offer Postpartum Care Services!

Absolutely not! I am an addition to your team. Often times partners can feel lost and unsure of what to do during labor, I can work with your partner to help navigate that uncertainty and help them to feel included and empowered!
Yes! I support all types of births. My support is not only physical, I can also support you and your family with advocating, answering any questions and offering emotional support.
No, although we do support families during the same journey. A Doula does not provide any medical care. A Midwife is a licensed medical provider and will be the one assisting with any medical needs you and your baby may need. When thinking about Doulas vs other providers, a very simple way to explain it is, Doula focus on moms at the head of the bed and providers focus on the end of the bed.
Doulas are a great addition to your birth team! While Doctors and Midwives work more with the medical care and in a hospital setting the staff changes in shifts and are working with multiple families at one time. Whereas Doula support is exclusively dedicated to you and your family. I will stay with you throughout your labor, delivery and the beginning of postpartum.
YES and YES! I offer flexible payment plans that work for you! I also accept Michigan Medicaid, UPHP, and qualifying employer insurance. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out!
